These sexy Swedish based rock chicks are set to leave hearts racing tonight as they finish their tour of Ireland and Northern Ireland in Belfast.
County Louth singer Clare Cunningham fronts the band, based in Sweden and she’s told the rest of the girls to expect to party into the small hours.
And her AC/DC influenced ThunderMother bandmates say they’re expecting our men to party.
Clare, Filippa Nässil (lead guitar), Giorgia Carteri (rhythm guitar), Tilda Stenqvist (drums), Linda Ström (bass) will be performing their Rock ‘N’ Roll Disaster Tour set at the Pavilion, Ormeau Road, Belfast tonight.
Clare said: “It’s a pleasure to be able to play my home country and to get to Belfast.”
“Me and the girls can’t wait to get to Belfast, I’ve been introducing them to Guinness, late night lock-ins and all other madness that us Irish are known for so I expect Belfast to be no different” added Clare.
“I hear the audiences in Belfast can be a bit wild so I hope we won’t be let down.
“I’ve also been telling the girls that the men are very sexy and we’ll be on the lookout to see if this is true.
“Maybe some of us might even find love in Belfast so we have the reason to come back more often.”
The ThunderMother girls say they will be bringing a little taste of European rock to The Pavilion.
From Sweden, Ireland and Italy the girls recently played Europe’s most prestigious rock and metal festival The Sweden Rock Festival and have opened for acts such as Danko Jones, Metaltown, Clutch and Bonafide.
Currently signed to Warner Music their album Rock ‘N’ Roll Disaster was released in April this year.
Clare said: “We played a gig, in Lapland actually last year and the A&R guy for Warner was there and liked our stuff.
“There was a bit of negotiating and then at the start of this year everything was agreed. It just goes to show that you never know who is watching you perform.”
As a result of signing to Warner the girls will now finish their UK tour at the prestigious Hard Rock Hell festival in Wales later this month.
“We’ve a few people coming to see us so it’s another high pressure gig at the very end of the tour” said Clare, adding: “We’re really looking forward to it and there’ll be a great buzz around it because it’s the end of the tour.
“Unfortunately, I don’t think we’re going to be there long enough to catch many bands because we arrive in on the morning that we play and then have to head back out again.”
