Pop Star, YouTube Sensation & Top Broadcaster Headed To Belfast For ICONS Festival

THREE pop culture stars have joined the line-up for a forthcoming creative industries festival set to welcome over 20,000 people over four days next month.

Music industry figures Nicola Roberts of Girls Aloud fame, YouTube singing sensation Emma Horan and DJ Phil Taggart from BBC Radio 1 are among the speakers confirmed for the ICONS festival.

The event will feature talks, workshops and performances involving icons in the worlds of tech, music and screen.

Nicola, Emma and Phil will join a star-studded lineup which includes Public Enemy legend Chuck D, top Hollywood producer Bill Daly who worked on film franchises such as Harry Potter and The Matrix as well as Jon Bradford, managing director of the TechStars accelerator in London and Marvin Liao of Silicon-Valley based 500 Startups.

“She’ll be joined by Emma Horan who is demonstrating how best to exploit new media in order to distribute content and build a dedicated worldwide fanbase.

“And top it off we have Radio One DJ Phil Taggart who is at the forefront of what’s happening in new music.

“Our aim is to pool amazing creative talents from music, tech and screen into one venue over four days. That mix will be sure to spawn new ideas and opportunities for content producers and distributors that will prove invaluable for all involved.”
