AN explosion of colour brightened up Belfast’s Titanic Quarter recently as The Color Run returned to the city.
6,000 runners of all ages took part in what has been dubbed the “happiest 5k on the planet”.
According to its organisers the Color Run is an un-timed celebration of health and colour, meaning groups of friends can walk, jog, dance and party their way along the course at any pace.
At each kilometre, colour explosions cover runners in kaleidoscopic fashion before DJs entertain the crowd in the Colour Festival Area after the finish line.
Most people taking part were raising money for their favourite charities while others will be there for fun.
In its second year in Belfast The Color Run is pitched as “a celebration of happiness, healthiness, friendship and community spirit”.
The run is so popular more than 170 events are now organised by The Color Run team each year across the world.
