Teen Joins #99RedBalloons School Leukaemia Awareness Campaign

AN East Belfast teenager is heading up a campaign to raise awareness and funds for a leukaemia charity.

19-year-old Strathern Grammar School student Emma Murphy, who lost her school friend Catherine Buchanan to leukaemia in 2013, is encouraging people to take to social media by using the hashtag #99RedBalloons to support blood cancer charity, Leukaemia & Lymphoma.

The year-long #99RedBalloons campaign hopes to raise awareness for the cause while simultaneously raising money for the charity’s work.
