REVIEW: Alvin And The Chipmunks: The Road Chip

THIS month we were invited to an exclusive media preview of Alvin And The Chipmunks: The Road Chip ahead of its UK release date on February 12, courtesy of Movie House Cinemas at Cityside Retail Park.

As expected, the film delivered everything necessary for a fantastically fun family experience.

With voice-overs from the likes of Jesse McCartney and Anna Faris, The Road Chip sees the chipmunks in a race against time to stop Dave from proposing to his new girlfriend…and potentially ditching them for his ‘new family’.

Littered with non-stop witty humour and plenty of action, adults and children alike can’t really help but enjoy watching these three rascals cause havoc, even with the annoying squeaky voices.

In fact, the squeakiness weirdly seems to work when it comes to the film’s brilliant soundtrack. Think, Uptown Funk as you’ve never heard it before. It’ll only be a matter of time before you’re all singing along.

This is the fourth in the Alvin And The Chipmunks’ film series, with increasing budgets for every release and I doubt we’ve seen the last of them. While the movie is basically everything you’d expect from a feel-good family comedy, that’s not necessarily a bad thing.

Watch Alvin And The Chipmunks: The Road Chip from 12 February 2016 at Movie House Cinemas, Belfast.
