“Northern Ireland Women Want A Ring On It” Survey Says

More than half of Northern Ireland women are planning their wedding before their even engaged.

A recent survey across the UK found not only were many women “obsessed” by the big day but the Northern Irish women were the worst ‘pre-bridezillas’.

The poll by Asda found a whopping 85% of those surveyed from NI admitting they knew which style of dress, engagement ring and bridesmaids they wanted before accepting a proposal from their loved one.

Over half (54%) of the people surveyed admitted to prepping before they get engaged, with one in ten (9%) starting as soon as they meet a partner.

And the crucial wedding dress has been crowned the most likely item a singleton will have chosen ahead of the big day (20%), followed by the bridesmaids (15%) and engagement ring (15%).

The report, which coincides with the launch of the new bridal lingerie range at George, surveyed over 2,000 women throughout the UK.

It also found that one in ten women admit to planning as soon as they meet their partner, a fifth know exactly what style of wedding dress they would want, couples spend over 520 hours planning their big day and rising costs of the hen do causes argument for a fifth of friendship groups.

Meanwhile just one in ten men (9%) will still start thinking about the big day as soon as they meet their current partner, whilst 5% admit to doing nothing at all.
