Belfast Film & Comic Con is here at last! The Con season has started and one of the biggest and best is about to hit this weekend May 14 and 15. So we are giving you the top 10 reasons to get your behind in gear and head to the Titanic Exhibition Center, Belfast.
1. Free PhotoShoots
Showmasters bring the celeb guests and the photographer, all you have to do is bring yourself! Get snapped with the many screen stars that attend Belfast Comic Con, and as a bonus there is also shoots with a life-sized Groot (Guardians of the Galaxy) or a speeder bike from the new Star Wars film!
2. Meet The Celebs And Grab An Autograph
With some amazing people like Robert Englund (A Nightmare on Elm St), Michael Biehn (Aliens, The Terminator), Sylvester McCoy (Doctor Who), and Ken Kirzinger (Freddy Vs Jason) in attendance, there is the opportunity the have a quick chat and nab an autograph from your favourite actor.
3. The Merch Floor
An astounding amount of merchandise booths, selling everything from Steampunk Tea to Prop Swords, are available at this year’s BFCC…the sort of booths that can make a grown man weep as they look into an empty wallet, on their knees weighed down by several bags of loot.
4. Panels And Cosplayers
Costumes….Everywhere. Made with heart and skill by every fan imagineable, of every theme your can think of and every show you never heard of. Many of the cosplayers get together to perform skits and talk about their designs on panels at the convention. Check out attendance times posted around the venue floor.
5. The Fans
Everybody comes to BFCC to share their mutual fandom. Be it Doctor Who or Japanese animation, there is a convivial atmosphere that embraces the geek in all of us. There is always someone new to meet, a costume to admire or a special find on a merch stand to gush over with the person next to you. With a family friendly atmosphere and many smiles all around, it would be foolish not to check out this day to remember.
