This June, Asda stores across Northern Ireland including Asda Shore Road will, for the first time join Breast Cancer Care to support its annual summer fundraising campaign, Strawberry Tea.
Running from June 4-18 and led by Asda NI’s award-winning team of Community Champions, the UK-wide initiative is being supported at a local level by breast cancer survivor, Karen Case who benefited from the services of Breast Cancer Care when going through treatment four years ago.
Asda Shore Road will host a #StrawberryTea stall with activities for customers to get involved with, including cupcake decorating and a teapot lucky dip. There will also be information on how the public can join in and host a #StrawberryTea, as well as background about the charity and the much needed services it provides.
All money raised will help Breast Cancer Care provide support for women, men, family and friends affected by breast cancer.
Alison Dewar, Community Champion at Asda Shore Road said: “We are delighted to join with Breast Cancer Care for its Strawberry Tea fundraiser! We would like to encourage our customers to come in store to find out more, and take part in our Strawberry Tea themed activities.
“We will have strawberry cupcake decorating – perfect for the little ones, a tea pot lucky dip with lots of prizes on offer, as well as all the information people need to join in the fun and host a Strawberry Tea of their own.”
Karen Case added: “When I was first diagnosed with breast cancer it came as a complete bolt out of the blue, affecting me both physically and mentally. Breast Cancer Care was on hand to offer support and help me deal with the array of emotions and challenges I suddenly had to face.
“I can’t speak highly enough of the services provided by the charity and I would urge all Asda shoppers to visit their local store, find out more about #StrawberryTea, and lend their support to this vital fundraising campaign.”
