Tourism Northern Ireland and Tourism Ireland have unveiled the latest door in their joint #DoorOfThrones promotion as part of Tourism Ireland’s Game of Thrones® Territory campaign with HBO.
The doors are carved from trees that were blown down in Storm Gertrude earlier in the year at the Dark Hedges, Co. Antrim – which serve as the backdrop for the Kingsroad, perhaps the most iconic Game of Thrones® location in Northern Ireland.
The unveiling of the door at Mary McBride’s, Cushendun, Co. Antrim on Monday 13 June depicts the events of the famous series’ most recent episode titled ‘No One’.
The eighth door is located close to the spectacular Causeway Coast and Glens area where visitors can explore several publicly accessible filming locations including the dramatic and unspoiled landscapes of Portstewart Strand and The Glens of Antrim.
There are currently over 20 publicly accessible filming locations across Northern Ireland and visitors should watch out for the new interpretative panels located at these filming locations.
