A TOTAL of 2,332 people are on housing waiting lists in North Belfast, Minister of Communities Paul Givan has revealed.
In an Assembly Written Answer to Sinn Féin’s Carál Ní Chulín, Mr Givan also revealed there were 132 people living in temporary accommodation, of which 92 have been accepted by the Housing Executive as homeless.
The statistics emerged as residents continue to campaign for more social housing across North Belfast amidst continuing controversy around the Seven Towers area of the New Lodge and the site of the former Girdwood Barracks.
