Anxiety and depression are the number one mental health issues in the UK and affect many of us in our daily lives. What are the underlying causes of anxiety and how can we begin to remove them to tackle this debilitating experience?
Meditation and Modern Buddhism in Northern Ireland invites you to take part in a half day course where you will explore simple Buddhist meditations that can be beneficial in creating mental space to be able to see what is causing our pain, as well as developing skills for daily life so that you can recognise the signs of tension before it becomes overwhelming.
The half day is split into two sessions with a short break in the middle for refreshments. If you can attend the whole workshop it is very beneficial to gain a full set of meditation skills to put into practise. However, if you cannot commit to the whole afternoon you can drop in to either the 2.pm or 4pm sessions.
The workshop is suitable for beginners, so don’t worry if you have no experience with meditation.
This accessible, informative and relaxing course combines easy to understand instructions on how to meditate and 4 guided meditations. The meditations are taught by Pat Quinn, one of Potala Centre’s dedicated Managers and Meditation Teachers.
Venue: Potala Centre, 265 Ormeau Road, Belfast, BT7 3GG
Date: 6th August 2016
Time: 2pm – 4pm
