THE hunt is on once again to find Northern Ireland’s best pub quiz team with the launch of the annual McCoy’s NI Pub Quiz.
Now in its seventh year, the popular competition offers local quiz buffs the opportunity to compete for the coveted title of McCoy’s NI Pub Quiz Champions 2016 as well as winning a flavoursome £1000 first prize.
As part of the McCoy’s ‘When Flavour Calls’ campaign, this year’s quiz has been given a little added twist of flavour in that, for the first time, teams are being asked to register their interest via the McCoy’s NI Facebook page or at www.duffyrafferty.com/mccoysni
Due to the change in the application process this year the quiz is now open to a wider audience so the lesser known pub quiz teams now have the potential of taking home the big prize and reigning as McCoy’s NI Pub Quiz champions, as McCoy’s NI Business Account Manager Ricky Watts explained:
“We are excited to shake the McCoy’s NI Pub Quiz up this year and invite anyone and everyone to register to come and have a go at winning the title,” Ricky said. “Every year we are welcomed with enthusiasm, passion and outstanding talent so we cannot wait to see the competition this year!
“There are couples, groups of friends, families and work mates who love a good old quiz so we urge all of these people to visit McCoy’s NI Facebook page or www.duffyrafferty.com/McCoysNI to register their interest in taking part in the tastiest pub quiz around.”
The McCoy’s NI Pub Quiz 2016 continues its association with radio station U105FM and popular drive-time presenter Johnny Hero is excited to revisit his role as Quiz Master at the Grand Final.
“The McCoy’s NI Pub Quiz gets better and better every year with its standard of talent and I hope this year we see even more people entering. So I say to those who have not entered before… give it a go! The McCoy’s NI Pub Quiz is a fantastic night out with great people from all across Northern Ireland coming together to battle it out for the title and the £1000 prize.” Johnny said.
Last year’s winners The Wasps Bee Team battled it out with multiple winners The Hoffs and 12 other worthy teams in a nail-biting final to walk away with the much sought after title. Other winners of the McCoy’s NI Pub Quiz over the years include We’re Only Here For The Crisps from Bangor and The Sandbaggers from Portstewart.
To get everyone’s brains primed and ready for action, quiz buffs are encouraged to like McCoy’s NI on Facebook for a variety of killer questions, fun facts and quiz updates along with prize giveaways.
Across the UK, McCoy’s Crisps are consumed by more than a third of households and one pack is eaten every 15 seconds. In Northern Ireland, the popular brand enjoys 100% distribution across 350 symbol stores locally for its top three flavours Flame Grilled Steak, Salt and Malt Vinegar and Cheddar and Onion.
