Martin emphasised the danger of electing Trump over fellow candidate Hilary Clinton by calling him “the least qualified candidate ever nominated by a major party for the presidency”. Ending his statement with a key quote from his A Song of Ice and Fire series upon which the series is based, Martin warns: “Winter is coming. I told you so.”

“There are really no words for how I feel this morning.

America has spoken. I really thought we were better than this. Guess not.
