Christmas can be a tough time for our furry friends, especially those who have been abandoned or left to be rescued by a shelter.
Pet Minder NI have launched a Christmas Shoebox Appeal to raise much needed essentials for local animal charities and rescues. While you’re tucking into your turkey, rescue pets across NI could be opening their very own treats and having a Christmas to remember!
With an already overwhelming response to the appeal, people, businesses and fellow rescues are joining in to pack Shoe Boxes that will be heading to the following local rescues:
German Shepherd RRR
Animal Connexions
Mid Antrim Animal Sanctuary
Lucy’s Trust
Almost Home Animal Rescue
Assisi
The Barn Rescue
The Dog House Banbridge.

Where is the best/cheapest to buy things for the shoe boxes?
All4petsonline.com have very generously joined forces with Pet Minder NI for the appeal.They have drawn up a page specifically for what is needed AND offered prices which are a lot cheaper than Amazon. Check them out here.
Can I wrap my shoebox?
Absolutely! You can wrap it in Christmas paper for that extra special touch, or leave it plain and easy for the furbabies to open. If you DO decide to wrap it, pop your name on the outside and either CAT or DOG. This makes life easy for the rescue receiving your shoe box.
When does my shoebox need to be ready?
Pet Minder NI are aiming to gather ALL shoe boxes up by the end of the first week in December at the latest. This means they can then have them ALL delivered to ALL rescues by the 2nd week and in perfect time for Santa coming!
How do I get my shoebox to you?
There are a few options.
1) Check out a full list of drop-off points at
2) Hold onto your shoe box and PM Pet Minder NI your address via Facebook. They will be organising a day or two full of driving around NI, collecting shoe boxes and will happily pop by to collect.
3) Post – No doubt many of you will be posting your loved ones Christmas cards or gifts. If you are able to post your shoe box , it would be a massive help to Pet Minder NI. You could of course follow up with a PM and they will confirm its arrival. The postal address is:
