Tesco NI has invested over £2.1 million in the layout of its new look Tesco Newtownbreda store to give Northern Ireland shoppers an unparalleled shopping experience, providing a host of brand new features and extended departments within and beyond the grocery aisles, helping to make shopping easier for customers in time for the busy festive period.
Highlights of the store refit include a modernised, new café where meals are cooked freshly to order. Continuing its long-standing support of local producers, customers now benefit from Northern Ireland’s largest produce department, abundant with an even greater variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, across a greater floor area making it much more user friendly for customers.
Similarly, a completely new-look more spacious beers, wines & spirits department offers a vast array of choice for customers, including many locally sourced craft beers, ciders and spirts.
Speaking about the investment, Nora Armour, Store Manager, Newtonbreda said: “As the flagship Tesco store in Northern Ireland, the Newtownbreda store has always had a unique offering for our customers so we are delighted we can now make the busy festive shopping period better for our customers with more space and wider aisles.
“It is the largest store in Northern Ireland with the widest selection of fresh Northern Irish products. We are very proud to have taken direct customer feedback onboard when designing the fit-out and we now have state of the art store that is unmatched in Northern Ireland. The improvements coupled with the host of Tesco colleagues around the shop floor to help shoppers during this time will create a first rate Christmas shopping experience for our customers”
Renowned for its fresh food, Tesco NI is pleased to bring the expertise and passion of a traditional local butcher with the new Primacy Farm Butchery counter, which now offers a selection of the most popular products from the family farm butchery based outside Bangor, Co Down.
The new offering provides great value while delivering on Tesco NI’s commitment to sourcing locally, with 100% of the meat sourced in Northern Ireland.
A new community room has also been created to offer local charities and community groups a vital new venue in which to host charitable events, free of charge. Bookings can be made through the store’s community champion.
A new fleet of freezers has been installed within the frozen aisles, while a new Customer Service Desk has also been set up to offer quick and easy assistance to shoppers. Extra self-service tills have been provided to offer customers an alternative to the regular checkouts.
Customers’ shopping experience is enhanced further with a totally revamped and extended F&F clothing department, providing more space for customers to browse while creating an easier shopping experience.
“We would like to thank our customers and colleagues who have put up with the disruption and look forward to welcoming new customers to our new and improved store in the coming weeks” added Nora Armour, Store Manager, Tesco Newtownbreda.
Tesco Newtownbreda currently employs 420 staff including highly skilled butchers, bakers, fishmongers and cheesemongers.
