The Man Shack, which opened its doors a year ago in Lisburn City has now opened a second outlet in Belfast City Centre at Wellington Place. The company’s expansion has seen a significant investment and the creation of 8 new jobs with more to come in the City.
The Man Shack now employs a total of 16 staff across the two outlets and have plans to expand further across Northern Ireland. Kenny Parker, creator of the Man Shack said: “We are delighted with the response to The Man Shack concept, both in Lisburn and Belfast. I set out to create a barbering experience with a difference, somewhere guys could come to fully relax and soak up the atmosphere and I think we’ve succeeded in doing that. We offer a wide range of services including hair styling, hot towel shaves, sunbeds, massage, waxing and even tattooing, all of which have proved incredibly successful.”

The Man Shack experience offers guys a place to escape, enjoy a complimentary beer or Jack Daniels and even watch some sporting action on the TV. Kenny goes on to explain;
“The vision for The Man Shack was to create a modern and stylish barbers which uses traditional techniques but very much caters for the modern man in a modern setting. Ladies have long been enjoying pampering retreats designed specifically for them and we wanted to offer guys an escape where they can leave feeling refreshed, groomed and ready for anything!”
The Man Shack caters for all gents, young and old, who are after an up to date look, and an enjoyable experience, each outlet also offers ‘The Vintage Room’ experience for those who would like a quiet and relaxing escape from the hustle of everyday life;
“The Vintage Room is a dedicated room which can be booked for exclusive treatments. We’ve had huge success with this and we’ve realised that guys are under a lot of pressure, at work, and at home and this offers them a much needed escape and time out from their hectic lives.”
An online booking system and a dedicated Man Shack App ensure ease of booking for customers and bring the whole concept bang up to date, meaning that from booking to blow dry the entire process is slick and easy for busy customers.
The Man Shack is also in the process of creating a collection of Man Shack products so customers can maintain their new look at home.
Looking to the future Kenny said: “Northern Ireland is a hot bed for fashion conscious guys and we hope to bring The Man Shack brand to more towns and cities in Northern Ireland and we’re really excited about the creation of our own brand of products to further expand our brand which will be finalised shortly.”
