The Key Characters

Cersei Lannister – Currently sitting on the Iron Throne, Cersei is out for blood and will hold no prisoners in GoT season 7. Her biggest threat at the moment is the likely alliance between Daenerys Targaryen and Jon Snow (Taragaryen). With all of her children now dead, she has nothing to lose and it may up to her brother Jaimie to stop her wreaking havoc across the realm.

Jon Snow – Revealed last season to be the son of Lyanna Stark and Rhaegar Targaryen, Jon is now in a position to hold the North against the Lannisters. With support from all of the Northern Houses and possibly his aunt Daenerys, he could well be in the running to seize the throne. But is that what he wants? Both him and Dany share a desire to ‘break the wheel’ and destroy the system, and this is what it will boil down to in GoT season 7.

Daenerys Targaryen – While Daenerys has continued to accrue power over the last 6 seasons, she still has the people’s interest at heart. Having finally arrived in Westeros and aligned herself with the Greyjoy’s, she is ready to take down the Lannisters and potentially usurp Cersei from the Iron Throne. But will she keep her promise and ‘break the wheel’, or will she succumb to power and forfeit her sanity like her father?

– Tyrion has been a fan favourite since day one, and now he has sworn loyalty to Daenerys Targaryen as she declares war on his family. He is the vital link between the two Houses and will play a key role in the Lannister’s downfall. It is also possible he is the third Targaryen Dragon Rider, placing him at a huge advantage in the battle of Ice and Fire against the White Walkers.

The Night King – The leader of the White Walkers has remained elusive, yet a growing threat as the seasons have progressed. It’s clear that the Great War has arrived and he will lead the White Walkers to the Wall, possibly breaching it in GoT season 7. While the main characters battle for power, the real danger is the army of the dead who may well render the Iron Throne meaningless.
