Donna Stewart’s Inspirational Quote Of The Week

A quote a day keeps the blues away
I’m hoping the quotes that keep me strong each day will help you too. I write quotes each morning and I just realised I shouldn’t be keeping them to myself. I’ve been through the wars and I’m still fighting and will until my last breath!

I have constant battles that I fight on a daily basis with varying degrees of success. The trick is to push on no matter what the obstacles, but never take big steps.

I use the ‘One Step Approach’ – I never see anything as a big mammoth task. Just one little one, done bit by bit. I am now registered disabled, I own a spine that belongs in someone who has lived over a hundred years. I have non-alcoholic liver disease due to the extreme amount of prescription tablets I have been on over the years due to my spine.

I also am nursing an unruptured brain aneurysm. Sure, it’s all great craic. Worrying my aneurysm might burst at any time has made me decide to ignore it completely and live my life the best I can. Everyone should do the same. This isn’t a rehearsal kids.

For a quite a while now, I have been following a fantastic life coach called Pete Cohen. You may remember him from GMTV. He was their resident life coach for years. Never in a million years did I think a strong, determined wee fighter like me would ever need a Life Coach but I most certainly do and I’m mentally richer for his influence.

About me
Here’s a wee synopsis of my life, struggles, woes and victories! All was going swimmingly until my Dad got sick with a brain tumour. I was majorly affected by his death when I was nine years old. During my life, I have experienced deaths of family, friends and pets, severe trauma, turbulent relationships, major illnesses including years of being bedridden with M.E and years of severe depression. Each has its own story, I will share all over time.

The problem with being ‘capable’ or ‘strong’ is that people – even family – don’t realise how affected you are. Being so ‘strong’ all the time in fact makes us more vulnerable. But we can’t ask for help as we are too busy saving face and showing the world how strong we are. Trust me when I say the strongest thing to do is to ask for help. My victories? Loads! Everything I have to be grateful for is a victory and I count my blessings every day.

My quote for this week is a powerful one (I do love a quote). I hope it comforts, inspires or motivates you.
