South 13 (S13) Is A Knockout Success

The creative entrepreneurial visionaries and regeneration specialists at Square Pit Productions, the team behind T13, hosted their first public event at S13 at the weekend, proving that their latest exciting project was boxing clever.

S13, the same team behind T13 in The Titanic Quarter, aims to breathe new life into abandoned urban spaces in Belfast while supporting social and creative enterprise and incubating new talent. With the support of South Belfast Partnership Board and the Norlin Group, they have converted the former B&Q, site off Boucher Road in South Belfast, into a community asset and an exciting space and social hub for business and leisure.

Professional Wrestler Tron – The Northern Irish Nightmare and champion Boxers and coaches Kevin Fay and Kurt Walker invited local kids to step into the ring. Other knockout activities included instructor led taster sessions in BMX, Skate, Scooter, Parkour, Segways, archery, box fit, sponge pit, nerf, urban and creative arts. This event kick-started a dynamic programme of activities and events.

Gary Flynn, Director of Square Pitt Productions and the Director of Social Enterprise at S13 said: “We initiated S13 at Boucher Road a few months ago and we are confident we can repeat the success we enjoy at T13 in the south of the city.

“This is a very exciting and inspirational business project that will deliver dividends to the community. S13 is conveniently located on the South/West corridor close to residential communities, public transport and the road infrastructure of the Westlink giving accessibility to all who want to avail of its resources.”

S13 will be open every Saturday from 12 noon until 6pm and will provide taster sessions with professional coaches, while parents can enjoy refreshments from the on-site café, South. Venue and activities are available to book seven days a week.
