REVIEW: The Lego Ninjago Movie

The battle for NINJAGO City calls to action young Master Builder Lloyd, aka the Green Ninja, along with his friends, also secret ninja warriors.

Led by Master Wu, as wise-cracking as he is wise, they must defeat the evil warlord Garmadon, who also happens to be Lloyd’s dad.

Pitting father against son, the epic showdown tests these fierce but undisciplined modern-day ninjas as they learn to check their egos and pull together to unleash the inner power of Spinjitzu.

Ninjago 1

Six young ninjas Lloyd, Jay, Kai, Cole, Zane and Nya are tasked with defending their island home, called Ninjago. By night, they’re gifted warriors, using their skills and awesome fleet of vehicles to fight villains and monsters. By day, they’re ordinary teens struggling against their greatest enemy: high school.

Although I thought this was a brilliant and fun movie with excellent animation, amazing effects, cool story line and just enough adult content for the adults to be totally engaged throughout there really only was one person in our house that could really review it – our Ninjago fan – 4-year-old Logan.

When we told him he was going to see the movie on the big screen excited doesn’t even come into it…he couldn’t wait.  And being greeted at the entrance by the Q Radio team with a Ninjago poster and worksheet meant he was already chuffed and he hadn’t even seen the massive interactive posters yet.

Of course popcorn, “orange juice lemonade” and chocolate were a must as we ran off to Screen 3.  And where better to enjoy the movie than from the front row.

He said: “I liked all of it, I really liked the bit where the Green Ninja got his special power.  It was good seeing all the Lego bricks and I can’t wait to play with my Lego Ninjago now.”
