On The Town [November]: Dancing & Modelling To Attending A Book Launch

It’s hard to believe we are in December already! Where has time gone this year? Hopefully your Christmas preparations are well underway. I’ve been very organised this year, and only have a couple of last minute bits to get, which is just as well because November was an incredibly busy month.

At the start of November, I had a wonderful time at the Percy French Society in Bangor Golf Club where I danced and signed The Mountains of Mourne.

I was also delighted to attend the very fun Retro Disco in aid of the amazing charity, Tiny Life, organised by the wonderful Julie Duckworth Fitzsimmons. Many thanks to Debbie Deboo for the great photograph and her hubby Rich for dancing the night away with me on the dance floor.

Also in November I attended the launch of Q Radio star Stephen Clements book Back In Our Day – what a fantastic book, lots of fun, lots of memories and a great read.

Last month [October] I attended the Rock the Runway modelling competition in November which showcased local amateur talent, with a modelling contract and personal portfolio up for grabs for the winner of each category. The finalists had a professional photo shoot, and attended the evening full of anticipation as to who would be crowned the overall winner, receiving a cash prize as well as a trophy.

I helped judge the finalists on the night of the Gala Dinner and Awards Presentation, and it was no easy task.  It was great to see such excitement and enthusiasm for the industry.

I was accompanied to the event by my dog, Mary My Lovely, who also helped me model some of the latest denim fashions from the fabulous Marie Nancorrow of Titanic Denim.

Congratulations once again to the overall winner, the lovely Cameron Pert, as well as all of the category winners: Caoilfhinn Ní Mhurchú, Emily Rose McKeown, and Josh Hickman.

A great night was had by all, and I hope there are more Rock the Runway events held in the future.
