Adam Beyer Brings His Stunning Techno Show Drumcode To Belfast This Sunday

Swedish DJ Adam Beyer will headline Shine’s Custom House Square gig when he brings his record label’s branded show Drumcode to the city this Bank Holiday Sunday 26th August.

Drumcode took over Shine last year with a line-up stockpiled with talent such as Alan Fitzpatrick, Ilario Alicante, and Marco Faraone. It returns this year with headline act Beyer who plays his first show in Belfast in 5 years. He will be accompanied by two of the biggest stars in the techno scene today with Amelie Lens and Enrico Sangiuliano announced as support along with resident Shine duo Schmutz who will open a great night of dance music in the capital.

Stockholm native Beyer is a legend in the techno world, beginning his career back in 1993 and establishing Drumcode in 1996, which has been hugely popular. It has been the highest-selling record label on Beatport over the past year and has over 25 artists on its books.

Adam as a DJ has been very successful, releasing 6 albums and numerous EPs, mixes and singles. His illustrious career has seen him play hundreds of shows in various locations around the world. Be it an international festival headline spot or a more intimate club show, Adam has done it all. He adapts and evolves his solo sets with time in order to fit the various moods of his globetrotting tour schedule which will see him play 72 shows by the end of this year.

As for his support, Belgian producer Lens was arguably the hottest techno prospect of 2017 with her relentless releases and non stop touring schedule seeing her play at some of the biggest festivals in the world including: Amsterdam Dance Event, Awakening Festival and Tomorrowland. She released her first EP in 2016 and title track ‘Exhale’ saw her shoot to fame with many around the world praising the uptempo floor filling nature of the song. Her love of energetic, floor-driven techno in her sets has made her one of the world’s most in-demand DJs over the last few years and her presence at this year’s CHSq Drumcode show has been met with resounding positivity from techno fans here in Belfast.

Italian DJ Enrico is no stranger to the city having made his debut at a packed out Limelight show last year. Since his major breakthrough in 2009 Enrico’s work has been signed to a wide variety of world leading labels. His international recognition came in August 2015 with a remix of DJ Boris’s “Can You Hear Me”. The track held onto the #1 position on Beatport for 14 weeks, and holds the title of the highest selling track on Beatport of 2015. Sangiuliano has gone on to create some of the best Drumcode hits with ‘Blooming Era’ and ‘Astral Projection’, the latter a heady euphoric style of techno.

Local duo Schmutz complete the star studded line up for Sunday as they bring their no nonsense and straight to the point set of disco, house and techno back to CHSq.  The group consists of friends Conor MacParland and Kristian Woods who got the name ‘Schmutz’ from translating ‘dirt’ into German. They are now at the forefront of house music in Northern Ireland having held down a variety of residencies across the city’s premier electronic venues such as Shine, Stiff Kitten and Thompsons Garage as well as playing Belsonic festival alongside The Chemical Brothers in June 2016. Make sure you get down early if going to see a great set from NI’s latest musical export.

It promises to be a fabulous night of dance music in the city centre where gates open at 6pm. To ensure you don’t miss out buy your tickets now. They are still available from Ticketmaster outlets and www.ticketmaster.ie where they are priced at £30+ booking fee.
