The film introduces us to Lila, a retired singer that, after suffering a tragic accident when she is about to relaunch her artistic career, loses her memory. She completely forgets her identity and what made her unique and special on stage. However, with Violeta’s help, a great fan and imitator of Lila, she will try to remember who she is.
We find ourselves submerged in a dramatic film where it’s important to highlight the relationship between the two main characters, played by Nawja Nimri (Lila) and Eva Llorach (Violeta). Lila is not the only one who needs to find and reaffirm herself after losing her memories. Together, Lila and Violeta will start a journey of mutual support and self-knowledge.
One of the mains themes this movie reflects is the fear of disappointing people. Fans or family, it doesn’t matter. It perfectly reflects how difficult is to break the idealised vision people have of you and how scary it can be thinking that you are not enough. Without any doubt, it’s a film about women finding their own way in the world while they face these concerns.
It’s important to mention the big role cinematography plays in the movie. Light changes depending on the scene are used to make proper use of dramatic tension. Also, the use of close-ups shots and big close-ups help the audience to understand what the actress wants to reflect.
In conclusion, film director (Carlos Vermut) gets to tell us the story in a exciting and enjoyable way, keeping dramatic tension where it’s necessary and making it easier for the audience to dive in to the unfolding story.
