One of Ireland’s most hotly tipped new artists has been chosen to launch a brand new concert format to combat Covid 19 – The Drive-in Concert. Young singer-songwriter Conleth McGeary has been attracting national media coverage on both sides of the border pre- lockdown after his residency in Liverpool’s Liffey venue became the stuff of legends with crowds literally raising the roof off Liverpool’s best loved Irish drinking spot every Sunday night.
Liverpool’s globally successful producers the Griffiths Brothers – the duo who discovered and developed Oasis – took him under their wing and the first EP from those sessions is due this summer. Sellout shows in London and tours of the Middle East followed, leading to a national tour support slot with The Enemy’s Tom Clarke, postponed until 2021
due to Covid 19.
The Drive In show is an answer to the pandemic and is a unique way for live music lovers to still get to see shows in the outdoors.
