With lockdown measures starting to ease and people going back to their daily routine, it’s important to remain fit and healthy. Here are my top tips for feeling healthy and looking after yourself:
Keep your lockdown regimes
I think a lot of people have been taking better care of themselves during lockdown, I know I’ve certainly had more time to spend on looking after my skin and health. So there is no reason to let this all go once the hustle and bustle of life returns. Stick to routines which you have adopted in lockdown and incorporate them into your everyday life after returning to work.
Look after your skin
It’s so important to look after your skin especially in the summer months. My go to product is coconut oil, it’s such an all rounder because there are so many things you can use it for, your skin, your hair, your body. I actually melt the coconut oil a little in the microwave and then put it into a piping bag to make it easier to apply on my skin and a tub will last me for ages.
Stay Hydrated
During the summer months we also must remember to stay hydrated, especially with the hot weather. Make a habit of filling a water bottle up in the morning and carrying it with you during your day to ensure you are drinking enough. You can even add some lemon or fruit to the water for added taste and vitamins.
Stay Sun Protected
At this time of year we should all be wearing an SPF daily, many moisturisers now come with SPF included, so it’s a good idea to look at yours to check if it’s included. When temperatures rise applying sun cream all over your body is essential if you plan to be out in the sun. Your skin really will thank you over the years to come.
Build up your immune system
Now is a great time to be building up your immune system, to make it easier to fight infections and colds come winter. This can be done by maintaining a healthy diet, exercising regularly and sleeping well.
Regulate your Sleep
In lockdown it can be easy to let your sleeping pattern slip and get into a routine of staying up late or oversleeping in the mornings. Try to establish a healthy sleeping pattern where you get around 8 hours of sleep and fall asleep around the same time every night. This will make it easier on your body to get used to a normal routine again.
Get Your Vitamins
A lot of people might not realise that they are deficient in essential Vitamins such as C, D and Zinc. If you are feeling under the weather it can be worth taking to a health advisor about which supplements you can take to feel energised and healthy for the summer.
Exercise Outside
Whilst many people might be missing their gyms, it’s a great idea to get outside for a walk or run to exercise. I have gotten very into walking over lockdown and the fresh air and exercise is great for your body. Everyone should make the most of dry days and get out for at least 30 mins per day.
