Susie Blue is a 27 year old musician from Derry, but currently living in Belfast, who started off performing in local cafes at open mic nights. Susie’s music is a blend of indie and alternative pop.
What would you be best known for?
Being a queer artist.
What would you consider your biggest achievement?
Playing electric picnic and Glastonbury in the same year.
What would you consider to be the biggest lesson you’ve learned in your industry?
Not to doubt myself and that I know what I’m doing.
What has been your biggest challenge to date?
Finding a live band who gets the sound I’m going for and being a woman in the music industry.
Tell us a little about your personal life, are you married, kids, hobbies etc?
I’m engaged to a beautiful artist called Audrey, we are getting married in 2022. I enjoy making films in my spare time and I love going to see local drag.
Tell us about your most recent work?
I’m currently releasing an EP in October 2020 I have 2 singles out from that EP, Daughter and Love You Anyway.
What would you like us to tell people about?
My 2 new songs have music videos up on Youtube that I have filmed and edited, they’re also all on spotify.

If you had to describe your work to someone who has never heard of you what would you say?
Queer indie pop love songs and hate songs.
What’s the funniest experience you’ve had in your business?
One time we were playing in a bar in Derry and I couldn’t get my friends attention to grab me a drink from the bar so I shouted to the band to jam in E and I went and got a drink and ran back up to sing the rest of the song!
What would your advice be to young people hoping to pursue the same industry?
Work hard, don’t take anyone for granted and always remember the people who helped you early on.
Anything else you want to tell people about yourself or your work?
I’m really excited to start gigging again, seeing a crowd and interacting with them has always been the best part of being a musician, so I hope to see people soon with a new live set up.Â

I have always loved Sinead O’Connor, she’s always been a big inspiration to me, such a beautiful voice and a strong woman.
