What genre / style do you create in?

Pop, dance, house, R&B, ballads.

What would you be best known for?

Creating songs, performing and entertaining.

What would you consider your biggest achievement?

Being played on the radio across Europe.

What would you consider to be the biggest lesson you’ve learned in your industry?

To listen to my gut and know that there is no right or wrong way to create art.

What has been your biggest challenge to date?

Setting up and building my entire home recording studio during the start of the pandemic. Also sound proofing etc. I usually could have asked my mums brother ‘uncle Philip’ to maybe kindly do it for me but I gave myself the challenge, it was not easy but thrilling once all set up.

Tell us a little about your personal life, are you married, kids, hobbies etc?

My personal life consists of composing every single day, playing piano, self teaching myself production, writing stories, poetry and perfecting the sounds I want to create and share.

Tell us about your most recent work?

I have just released 2 songs, ‘You & I’ on the 5th of September and ‘Raise a glass’ on the 24th of August. It will be available on all streaming and purchasing platforms within the next 7 days. I now plan to put out at least 2 songs every month, at least 24 songs a year every year for the rest of my life. It has been a wonderful journey of self teaching myself production and now I’m ready to entertain the world.

Im also featuring on a track called ‘alive’ by ATREOUS FT Scarlett Skye, if is being released as under the label Nik Cooper on the 25th of September 2020.

If you had to describe your work to someone who has never heard of you what would you say?

I would say that Scarlett Skye is an artist that feels the fire within her body and puts that and the energy into her songs, she can’t wait to share them and perform them for the world. She is an artist people will feel they have always known…

What’s the funniest experience you’ve had in your business?

My mother fist pumping to a new song of mine and turning it up full volume in my studio and break dancing.

What would your advice be to young people hoping to pursue the same industry?

Listen to your gut, listen to your intuition. I used to listen too much to what critics had to say but to be honest if you only listen to critics then you’ll never create art from the heart. Yeah it’s good to get constructive feedback when you’re first learning and starting out but take it also with a pinch of salt. I used to take all things literal and learnt its only damaging. I have known since a young little girl that I am a performer, writer, singer and Entertainer. If you feel within your heart that you are doing what you are born to do then you will feel the most fulfilling feeling and know you want to do it for the rest of your life. There is no right or wrong way to create art, always remember that.

I know that I will be doing this for the rest of my life and its only the beginning at a professional level for me, I have studied my craft hard, practiced sometimes at 24 hour days or more, re-learnt piano, perfected my production skills and still will always be learning.

I’m also my own sound engineer and video producer. I do everything on my own, yes it’s a sense of pride and a comfortable feeling as I am in full control of the art I create and put out, I executive produce all my work. That may not be for everyone, mind you, which is understandable. Some people would prefer to have some great extra hands for help and some people prefer to do it alone it all depends on your desire in that aspect. Like I said there is no right or wrong way to create art.

Be your biggest fan, be self disciplined, have your goal and vision and work towards it and nothing will be able to stop you. You can be self assured and people can call you cocky, or you can be anxious and doubtful of yourself and people can then love you, if you are proud of yourself and most importantly enjoy what you do then the right people who genuinely care, love and support you will be your long term fans. Quality over quantity, 1 loyal fan is priceless. If you are making another human feel understood, entertained, inspired or touching their heart in someway then that’s all that matters.

Anything else you want to tell people about yourself or your work?

I am also on the look out for feature artists to have on a couple songs with me, and also a support act for my first tour for when I get it set up, you can be anywhere in the world. If you are an artist keen to be heard please get in touch with me with your details and any links as I would love to find a couple artists to have feature on my songs for the future.

Also, if you are a brand new artist that is cool too. I don’t look at followers and likes, though it’s a bonus but not essential, I am looking for talent, if you feel that spark inside you waiting to show the world then please certainly reach out to me, maybe you could open my first ever world tour? My email is [email protected].

Who do you look up to and why?

Madonna, not only is she a Leo as I am too, she has also the fire within her, a multi creative, performance artist and sassy! She is an open book and the ultimate performer. Madonna also is very inspirational in non musical ways, she is a huge human rights activist and does a lot across the world for lots fo charities, she is a huge inspiration to me since I was little girl.

Michael Jackson, Michael Jackson is my favourite music artist. He was a wonderful entertainer and when the first few seconds of any of his songs began you’d always know straight away it is Michael Jackson, just by his signature sound, this is exactly how I aspire to be.

Elton John, Elton john is a wonderful singer songwriter, he has not only wrote some classics for himself but also for others. He is a wonderful pianist and plays from the soul. The ultimate mentor in this industry if you could select one would be for me Elton.
