Why did you decide to become a blogger/influencer?
Tell us something your followers might not already know about you?
I started makeup around 16/17 when my granny passed away, I was really depressed , I was in and out of different counselling sessions, nothing really helped , and as silly as it sounds to some but makeup was my gateway to happiness, it helped me deal with the loss of my granny , it made me happy, it helped make me cope with the loss, and here I am 23 years of age with my own salon with my best friend , meeting people I’ve always looked up to and working with some of the world’s biggest brands! Never give up.
What would you consider your biggest achievement as a blogger/influencer?
Meeting people I’ve always looked up to , working with some of the world’s biggest brands and meeting amazing people I can call friends.
What would you consider the biggest lesson you’ve learnt in the industry?
Always remain humble and remember where you’ve come from. I’ve noticed a lot of people change when they get a following. As much as it’s great having a following but little do people know all those followers / likes can be gone within a blink of an eye.
What has been your biggest challenge to date?
I would say when I modelled for Makeup with Jah at the BPerfect live show. I suffer from anxiety so being able to sit infront of a huge crowd was a huge thing for me. As I’ve turned down opportunities like that in the past.
Do you feel that bloggers are unfairly judged at times, if so why?
Yes. I feel people look at people with a following with a nasty eye , for example the many people think I’m stuck up when they’ve never even met me all because of how I appear on Instagram. It’s our job. We need to appear confident etc.
What advice would you give to someone wanting to start a blog/instagram page?
Go for it! But with the right reasons. I feel people want to start an Instagram for all the wrong reasons, just for free stuff. It just so happens we are very lucky and get to be on PR lists with brands that we absolutely LOVE and use every day. If you feel like starting and Instagram because you want free stuff you will never be successful as harsh as it may sound. Instagram was not that popular when I started makeup and thankfully it’s really helped me get where I am business wise, so if you do it with all the right intentions you’ll go far.
What local blogger do you look up to and why?
I’m obsessed with @lo_lavxo she’s one of my very good friends. She inspires me so much , she is one of the most hard working people I know, who absolutely adores what she does.
What international blogger do you look up to and why?
is just out of this world. She is so humble, and I’ve had to chance to model for her , be in her company many times and get to know her as a person. She’s very hard working. An amazing artist at that. And an over all amazing person who deserves all the success in the world.
