Nuala Moore (32) is a Facilities Coordinator and PA to Director of Operations from Newtonabbey. She shares lifestyle tips on social media: From Phat to Phabulous.
Why did you decide to become a blogger/influencer?
Social media often presents us with images of beautiful people living seemingly perfect lives. In reality, the world can be a difficult place for people to be and I wanted to put myself and my experiences out there in the hope of helping people know they aren’t alone in their struggles.
I want to help people see that no one is perfect and we’re all just winging it – some of us are just more open and vocal about our hiccups, our flaws, faults and failures, me being one of them.
Tell us something your followers might not already know about you?
Although I am very open and share a lot of personal stories, I can actually be quite shy. I think my outgoing personality is a disguise for my shyness.
What would you consider your biggest achievement as a blogger/influencer?
I feel that the genuine friendships and relationships I have built through my platforms are a big achievement but my biggest has to be that I have helped people out of a dark place by being open and honest about my experiences with mental health struggles.
What would you consider the biggest lesson you’ve learnt in the industry?
You can’t please everyone. A lot of people will love what you post whilst others can be quick to criticise. Not everyone is your fan or friend and that’s okay because the people who do support you will do so wholeheartedly.
What has been your biggest challenge to date?
With sharing so much of my life on public platforms, sometimes people either feel like they know me personally or they feel they have the right to troll me. This means I can receive unhelpful advice, rude comments and nasty remarks so sometimes it’s a challenge to handle this feedback in a constructive way and not let it get me down.

Do you feel that bloggers are unfairly judged at times, if so why?
Absolutely! I feel like there’s a perception that bloggers are out to seek free goods and that any products talked about are for a sales drive – certainly in my experience, this is not the case. I also feel like people can believe that bloggers are out to shame and post only bad experiences they have had in a restaurant let’s say. In my case, if the service is great, I’ll post a raving review and if it’s not so great, I just won’t say anything.
What advice would you give to someone wanting to start a blog/instagram page?
Be true to yourself and be fearlessly you. People can be so wonderfully supportive yet others are ready to tear you down but if you are confident in yourself and truly believe in your content, then you will be unstoppable.
What local blogger do you look up to and why?
Julie Fitz – j800jf. Julie is a lot of fun and so enthusiastic. She’s such a positive lady and her instagram stories always make me smile. She’s a great bargain hunter and always shows little gems she has picked up when out and about.
What international blogger do you look up to and why?
Constance Hall – she loves women of all shapes, sizes, colours and backgrounds. She is so unapologetically herself and shares details of her life with such confidence and she makes me feel empowered to continue with my content.
