Gemma Pension from Belfast is a 28 year old Project Trainer/Manager. On her Instagram: @redandherthreads she shares about fashion with her 1300 followers.
Why did you decide to become a blogger/influencer?
I get such joy out of styling outfits & I’m such a big people person! I want to show girls that you can dress any figure & feel like a queen! I’m 5ft & curvy with red hair – definitely not what the mainstream ordered!! But here I am hopefully providing body confidence which each outfit picture upload!
Tell us something your followers might not already know about you?
I was on school around the corner in nursery! & my mums been living with MS since I was 1! My complete inspiration! It gives me such a different outlook on life! Forever grateful for the small things!
What would you consider your biggest achievement as a blogger/influencer?
All my new connections/friendships I’ve made with people I wouldn’t have met if I didn’t set up this account! We are such a lovely force when we come together positively
What would you consider the biggest lesson you’ve learnt in the industry?
You are you for a reason so don’t hide it, show it off & remember to keep a thick skin!
What has been your biggest challenge to date?
Learning to really truly love my figure & how I look without comparing to what I see online! I’m not your usual insta girl but that’s okay we need to normalise normal, curvy outgoing women the same way we praise the supermodel! Love the skin your in 💙
Do you feel that bloggers are unfairly judged at times, if so why?
Sometimes yes! People can look at it as vain when really these people have voices for the ones who are to shy to speak or express feelings when really we are all in the same boat & times are changing people do want to listen to an insta story of that persons bad day or top tips are it connects us all as humans- life isn’t this America rom-com from the 90s that we all dream off! It’s given me so much joy being able to create a style board for a girl heading on a first date & know that the outfit I selected gave her the added confidence to go knock the guy off his feet 🥰
What advice would you give to someone wanting to start a blog/instagram page?
DO IT!! It’s better an oh well than a what if! You’ll discover parts of you that you never knew you had!
What local blogger do you look up to and why?
@thatbelfastgirl – real, genuine & I could see us being friends away from social media 🌸
What international blogger do you look up to and why?
@taramays – a strong female spinning all of life’s plates – wife, mum & full time fashionista – Ticks all my future boxes!
