3 Plays Not To Be Missed At The Riverside Theatre

Summer is in full swing so there is no better way to spend the evening than watching a play. Riverside Theatre announced its lineup for July with an outdoor theatre experience.

Join Heartbreak Productions as they bring you three amazing plays this summer.

  1. A Midsummer’s Night Dream

Save the date for Heartbreak Productions rendition of Shakespeare’s eco-centric, outdoor-theatre favourite, A Midsummer Night’s Dream on 9th July! Putting a new twist on Shakespeare’s fantastical comedy, rewired for the environmental generation, all the costumes and sets are made from recycled materials.

Enjoy the unsuspecting mortals, camped at an environmental protest, are unaware of the fairies lurking in the woods, ready as ever to unleash magic and mayhem upon any human who dares to venture into the mystical wood. Join Oberon, Titania, and the ever-playful Puck as we weave our way through this tale of tangled lovers, warring fairies, and hapless human beings.

  1. David Walliams’ Mr Stink

Enjoy David Walliams’ bestseller, Mr Stink on the outdoor stage on 14th July.

Riverside Theatre invites you to celebrate Annabelle’s 10th birthday, hosted by everyone’s favourite MP candidate, Janet Crumb. Everyone is welcome, except, Chloe’s smelly new friend Mr Stink.

Witness how a kind and curious 12-year-old forges an extraordinary and rewarding friendship that takes them to the heady heights of live television and Downing Street via a garden shed.

  1. The Great Gatsby

Mark the 100 years since prohibition by joining Heartbreak Production and the Nick Carraway quartet to travel back in time and relive the roaring 20’s.

Riverside Theatre brings you an outdoor adaptation of F Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby on 24th July. Enjoy a night of jazz, prohibition-style and listen to how bond salesman Nick met the infamous Jay Gatsby, the mysterious part-throwing millionaire.

To enjoy these performances make sure you dress weather appropriately and pack your picnic basket!
