News In Brief: Wages Not Increasing At Same Rate As Living Costs

Everything is going up in price loads, but unfortunately our wages aren’t at the same pace and the state pension is too.

The state pension is tipped to rise by just £4.26 a week next April, despite a winter surge in living costs.

It’s expected to be based on last month’s rate of inflation, which stood at 3.1%, the Office for National Statistics announced.
