Facebook is going beyond just faces to build a full-body experience — and plans a rebrand to reflect it, say reports.
It could announce a name change at its Connect conference soon, according to reports.
Earlier this year, the Mark Zukkerberg, its boss, said Facebook would transition to ‘being a metaverse company’, and he plans to hire 10,000 staff in Europe to work on the idea.
The metaverse has been described as a virtual reality internet, where people could experience being ‘in’ online content rather than simply viewing it — for instance using a VR headset to meet friends or attend a concert.
