Footballer Marcus Rashford was awarded his MBE by Prince William yesterday for fighting child hunger — and immediately said he was giving the medal to his mum Melanie who raised him and his four brothers and sisters in poverty.
After the ceremony, the England and Manchester United star promised his fight would go on.
With Melanie at his side, he said: ‘I’m trying to give children the things I didn’t have when I was a kid. If I did have, I would have been much better off and had many more options in my life.”
