New arrivals into Northern Ireland will be faced with PCR Tests and self-isolation requirements.
It comes after the emergence of the new Omicron COVID-19 was discovered in England and Scotland last week.
Anyone arriving into Northern Ireland will be asked to take a PCR test on the second day and must self-isolate until they produce a negative result.
Northern Ireland’s Chief Medical Officer Dr Michael McBride said that it was ‘highly likely’ that cases of the variant will be in the province, but these actions are an attempt to’ delay and/or reduce its incursion’.
