We are a nation of clothes hoarders who own on average 58 items but only wear a third of them regularly.
Women have 69 garments worth £542, made up of 33 tops, eight jackets, 11 trousers and 17 pairs of shoes, a survey found.
Men have 47 items worth £453 – 23 tops, six jackets, 10 trousers, eight pairs of shoes – and are less likely to part with them.
Just 51% would donate, sell or throw away clothes, compared to 62% of women.
