Sir David Attenborough, Stephen Fry and Joanna Lumley are the nation’s most-loved wafflers.

A plummy tone is the accent we love to listen to for longest, the Irish accent is most attractive while a Brummie dialect is the most boring.

Sir David was named the “best voice” in the survey.

More than a third of us also say we become “posher” when talking on their smart devices.
