Adam Ant and Wet Wet Wet to Headline Retro Rock Festival

1980s music icons Adam Ant and Wet Wet Wet are set to headline the UK’s biggest retro rock festival as it comes to Bangor’s Ward Park on Saturday August 6. 

Adam Ant is best known for achieving ten UK Top Ten singles in the early 1980s – along with three Number 1 singles including Prince Charming and Stand & Deliver.

Meanwhile Wet Wet Wet remain most famous for their cover of The Troggs’ Love Is All Around which topped the UK charts for fifteen weeks in 1994 after being included on the soundtrack of Four Weddings and a Funeral 

The two are leading an impressive roster of 1980s acts such as Chesney Hawkes – best known for his 1981 chart-topper The One and Only, Howard Jones, who has been described by AllMusic as “one of the defining figures of…’80s synth-pop” and Belinda Carlisle, the lead singer of The Go-Go’s. 

Also performing at Ward Park are Sister Sledge, whose breakthrough album We Are Family reached number three on the USA’s Billboard Hot 100 in 1979.

Other acts include T’Pau, Toyah and Heaven 17 among others.
