Book Of Condolence Opened

The Mayor of Ards and North Down, Councillor Jennifer Gilmour, has opened a Book of Condolence to recognise the victims of the Saturday 7 October 2023 attack on Israel and subsequent innocent victims in the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas.

Mayor Gilmour commented: “Like so many I have watched with horror and great sadness the series of terrorist bombings and ground attacks carried out at the weekend in Israel. Following a request, the Council has set up a Book of Condolence to recognise the victims of the Saturday 7 October attack on Israel and subsequent innocent victims in the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas.

“My ongoing thoughts and prayers are with all the innocent people who are suffering as a result of this attack. Terrorism is never justified, I think it is important that we stand with Israel at this terrible time and would hope that peace can return to the entire region as soon as possible.”

The book can be signed online at Book of Condolence.
