Painter And Artist, Anfaal Almughallis’s Exhibition Wows At Belfast’s Arts For All Festival

The Arts for All Festival has taken centre stage in Cityside Retail Park for the last week, showcasing a variety of amazing talent.

Anfaal Almughallis, a painter, artist and graphic designer from Yemen, who has been in Belfast for almost a year, is one of the many talented artists showcasing their own exhibits.

Her art exhibit focuses on the Circles of Life, with Anfaal herself saying: “The circle has been known since the beginning of history. Circles have no beginning or end. If we start anywhere on a circle and follow it around, we end up in a loop, coming back to where we started. The circle of our life is about the big loop of life and death.”

She continued: “I also wish to highlight cycles’ ambiguity. Circles appear as closed systems, offering the impression of unity and perfection. But we know that cycles may be open and dispersed.”

Anfaal records history through her mixed media art style and digital collage, while incorporating traditional symbols to bring together themes of Yemeni women, heritage, history and identity.

After graduating from the University of Cairo in 2014, Anfaal has gone on to have art exhibitions worldwide, including Egypt, Switzerland, Germany, USA and many more. This year she has successfully had two new exhibitions in Northern Ireland.

The Arts For All exhibition is open to the public from 9:30am to 4:30pm in Cityside Retail Park, closing on November 1.
