Irish Rock Band Black Dog Moon Announce NI Tour After Eponymous Debut Album Release

Black Dog Moon introduced their music to the world through their self-titled album released on June 28 2024 and have now announced seven upcoming dates across Northern Ireland.

Starting on Saturday August 3, the 5-piece band will be visiting Newcastle, Annacloy, Lisburn, Killyleagh, Cookstown, Ahoghill and Comber on their nationwide tour.

Led by frontman Conal Montgomery, who boasts years of industry experience singing with his previous band, Sweatleaf, the group is also comprised of guitarists Daniel Martin and Dylan Kelly, plus Stevie Glackin on drums and bassist Nicky Brown.

The riff-rife sound combined with boosted bass provides listeners with a rampant rock sound that is bound to be playing on repeat for days.

The group’s first album, also called Black Dog Moon, forms the base of their upcoming tour, with the nine track production spanning a plethora of intriguing tunes that effortlessly blend with Conal’s voice.

The Free Wind opens the record with Daniel and Dylan’s impressive guitar licks accompanied by Stevie’s drum performance, instantly setting the tone for the rest of the album.

A broodier tune, second track Stand instantly transports listeners to a crescendo representation of the current world affairs known for causing recent frustrations.

The Moment mixes lyrical music with impending bass, creating centre stage for Nicky to showcase his talents.

Fourth on the listing, Summertime on Easy Street slows the tempo down for a different sound that doesn’t stray entirely from the expected rock roots.

Namesake and titular track Black Dog Moon brings the energy back to the album, emulating the band’s individual members and the group’s style all in one, with subsequent song River Maiden following this trend also.

Rainy Nights in Belfast takes Black Dog Moon on an acoustic spin, highlighting the heart and soul of Northern Ireland’s capital.

The record’s lead single, Troll, includes a flaming lead guitar sound to complement the meaningful lyrics of transforming trouble into treasure.

Closing track Mr Trauma finishes the album in true rockstar style, but there is still space for vulnerability in the form of Conal’s own journey with sobriety.

Fans of the album and the band can hear the rock songs live from August to November 2024 as they visit various venues throughout County Down, Tyrone and Antrim.
