When we’re younger, it’s easy to accept the possibility of worlds outside our own. After all, it is a period of time when our imaginations are able to run wild. However, this belief in the possibility of alternative worlds and realities doesn’t fade away, especially when it comes to aliens and UFOS.
According to a recent study, over half of the adults in the UK believe that aliens exist, with 7% claiming to have seen a UFO in person. But, why does this belief stay with us, while we’re no longer quite as convinced that unicorns are real?
Reasons why people believe in aliens.
There are a few different reasons why people believe in aliens. Firstly, the universe is so fast that it’s narrow-minded to believe that we are the only life forms inhabiting it.
However, perhaps the most common reasoning behind this continued belief is UFO sightings, which occur throughout the world, including in numerous cities in the UK. When we cannot come up with a logical reason for the things that we are seeing, from floating orbs to ‘spaceships’ in the sky, the jump to potential alien life doesn’t seem that severe, even if logic appears to be working against us.
In addition to this, there are plenty of sources online aiming to dive deeper into the world of UFOS, many of which analyse UFO Videos and sightings, hoping to provide viewers with a greater insight into what is happening before their very eyes. Unsurprisingly, the more research that is carried out in this field, the more people are willing to get on board with believing in aliens (or alternative life forms).
More recently, a study argued that social media also has a role to play. This is because, whenever a person spots a UFO (or something similar), they’re able to share any footage they captured with the world. What would otherwise be a hard-to-believe story now has some form of tangible evidence or proof.
Beyond this, thinking about aliens can also be a lot of fun, especially for those who spend hours poring over sci-fi books and stories. And, the more we invest in space exploration, science, and technology, the closer we feel to finding the answers we’re searching for.

When you consider how much of the universe we’ve yet to explore (and will likely be unable to ever do so), then it’s easy to see why so many people have developed a fascination for aliens and UFOs!
