A new luxury fragrance destination, Republic of Oud, has officially opened in the Winthrop Arcade, Cork. The boutique specialises in oud-based perfumes, introducing Irish customers to one of the world’s rarest and most prized scent ingredients.
Founded by Cork native Alan Coakley, the perfumery showcases a curated selection of oud-based fragrances developed in collaboration with master perfumers from Grasse and Dubai. The launch marks the realisation of a longstanding ambition to bring the global tradition of oud to Ireland.
Oud, often referred to as “liquid gold,” has become a key element in the international fragrance market, with brands such as Tom Ford and Dior developing collections around the ingredient. Known for its deep cultural significance and complex scent profile, oud is now worn by public figures including Drake, Angelina Jolie, and David Beckham.
Republic of Oud features a range of internationally recognised perfume houses including Arabian Oud, Ajmal, Areej Le Doré, Monreale, Kajal Perfumes Paris, and Sora Dora. The boutique offers Irish customers access to a global scent tradition through exclusive fragrances and limited editions.
